Catena Appellation Luján de Cuyo White Clay 2024
WINE DESCRIPTION
Family vintners for over 100 years, the Catenas are recognized for ther pioneering role in high-altitude viticulture in Argentina. Luján de Cuyo Appellation is known for its clay-rich soils and cool nights. Deeply aromatic with expressive citrus and peach with a rich and mineral finish. Pairs well with vegetables, pasta and grilled white meats. This blend of Semillon and Chenin Blanc is Argentina’s century-old traditional white wine.
VINIFICATION
This wine goes through cold settling of 8-24hs at less than 50°F (10°C) to extract aromas. The juice is then fermented for around 25-45 days with a total maceration of approximately 6 hours. Minimum Battonage Program. Elevage: 4-8 months aged in 100% French oak, 25% first, 2nd and 3rd use barrels.
VINEYARDS
Lujan de Cuyo (950m/ 3117 ft). Alluvial origin. Clay topsoil with rounded rocks on the bottom. 30%Clay – 40%Silt – 30%Sand.
